Chris Metzen returns to Blizzard Entertainment after six years

The former senior vice president of creative development joins the Warcraft team as a creative advisor

Chris Metzen has returned to Blizzard Entertainment to work on Warcraft.

Before his 2016 departure, he had a 22-year-old stint at the company and previously served as senior vice president of creative development.

John Hight, senior vice president and general manager of the Warcraft series, announced Metzen's comeback on Twitter.

"It is with great joy that I announce Chris Metzen has joined the Warcraft leadership team as creative advisor," Hight said.

"Chris' focus initially will be on World of Warcraft, then his work will expand to other projects across this growing franchise."

Back in 2018, Metzen co-founded Warchief Gaming, a tabletop gaming club and studio.
