Chicago Chimera Named CGS 2007 World Champion at the $1,000,000 Final

Chicago Chimera Defeated Carolina Core and Takes $500,000 Top Prize and the Coveted Dew Trophy

Los Angeles, CA - December 14, 2007 - Championship Gaming Series TM (CGS), the only worldwide professional gaming league, announced that Chicago Chimera is the league's first-ever World Champion. Following the eight-day World Final showdown at Sony Studios in Los Angeles, Chicago Chimera defeated Carolina Core tonight in a thrilling championship match by a final score of 27-15 to capture the first-ever CGS league title and take home $500,000 in prize money. The team was also awarded the official Dew Trophy which they will hold until the 2008 World Final next year.

The road to victory was marked by fierce challenges and Chicago Chimera proved its competitive prowess throughout the 2007 season. CGS kicked off its season in April, launching 18 teams throughout the world and conducting events and competitions in such places as Shanghai, Seoul, Dubai, Mexico City, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and London, in addition to a full season in the United States. The top 12 teams around the world ultimately advanced to the World Final, which kicked off last Thursday and culminated with tonight's championship match. Chicago Chimera defeated three teams during the World Final matches to be crowned this year's CGS World Champion.

5th - 8th Place $30,000 per team Mexico City Furia, London Mint, Singapore Sword, Stockholm Magnetik

9th - 11th Place $15,000 per team Seoul Jinhwa, Sydney Underground, Rio Sinistro

Finals MVP $25,000 Jeremy "BlackMamba" Florence

Individual World Final Purse - $ 105,000

Valve's Counter-Strike®: Source® and EA's FIFA 2007 are the official PC games for CGS. On the Xbox 360, CGS features Tecmo's Dead or Alive® 4 (DOA4) and Project Gotham Racing® 3 (PGR3) from Microsoft Game Studios.

Each CGS team features a total of ten athletes, each specializing in an official League game. Five of the ten players comprise a Counter-Strike: Source (CS:S) squad which competes in five-on-five matches. FIFA 07 is played one-on-one. Each CGS team also has a mixed-doubles team of two DOA4 players, who will play against other teams in one-on-one matches on Xbox 360. The racing game PGR3 is played by two players on each team in a two-versus-two format.
