Championship Gaming Series Announces $84,000 Cash and Prizes Breakdown for UK & European Live Qualifiers

With less than one week remaining until Championship Gaming Series' United Kingdom and European live qualifiers kick off, it's still not too late to register (link: http://www.thecgs.com/index.php?s=events&d=region_details&region=uk) and compete with the continent's best gamers for your chance at more than $84,000 (USD) in cash and prizes, and a once in a lifetime job as a salaried professional gamer.

The qualifiers will be divided into two independent events with gamers participating in either the United Kingdom or European competition, based upon their place of residence. Each competition consists of the following four titles: Counter-Strike: Source (PC), FIFA 07 (PC), Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360), and Dead or Alive 4 (Xbox 360).

The $84,000 overall purse is divided evenly between both the United Kingdom and European competitions and includes an assortment of prizes. The following tables contain a breakdown for one of the competitions.

Note: Only non-drafted players are eligible for the above-described cash and prizes, as drafted players will receive a professional gaming contract to play with the elite gamers in the Championship Gaming Series. The "place" numbers above refer to the top 8 finishers other than the drafted players in each respective category.

The qualifiers will be held at Omega Sektor in Birmingham, England from September 20th to September 23rd, with activities continuing until September 30th for a select few gamers that make the grade.
