CGDC confirms EA, Ubisoft support

Key publishers added to conference line-up for July event in Shanghai

Howell Expo has announced that both Electronic Arts and Ubisoft have now confirmed their support for its China GDC event, taking place alongside ChinaJoy in Shanghai this July.

"Ubisoft believes in the importance of supporting and participating in top international events like CGDC," said Corinne Le Roy, MD of Ubisoft Shanghai. "As Ubisoft's second largest studio, Ubisoft Shanghai is pleased to share with our fellow Chinese game developers our successful stories and advanced technologies and expertise.

"Ubisoft Shanghai has a top team of talented developers, and we are delighted to participate in the preparation of CGDC helping to develop the entire Chinese gaming industry," continued Le Roy.

And Electronic Arts Asia president added: "China is a very important market to EA. We're happy to share our game development experience and cutting-edge technology with the local game industry. We look forward to working with the CGDC as a platform built by the Chinese government to achieve the best benefit of the event for all attendees."

Howell Expo and Think Services are currently in dispute about the ownership of the GDC brand, with both parties claiming rights to use the name in China.

Think Services will host its GDC China event in Shanghai later in the year.
