HAMBURG, Germany – January 28, 2009 – The Casual Games Association, the international trade organization of the casual games industry, today announced additional speakers and official parties scheduled for the Casual Connect Europe 2009, the world’s largest casual games conference series, will take place in Hamburg, Germany.

Casual games are designed for everyone, everywhere. They appeal to all types of consumers and can be played on any gaming platform, from computers to game consoles, to handheld game devices and mobile phones, to interactive television. This mass appeal has resulted in exponential growth, capturing consumers who never envisioned themselves as gamers. The online and mobile casual games business worldwide was a $2.25 billion industry in 2007 with more than 200 million people playing casual games online each month.

Casual Connect Europe 2009 provides attendees with the opportunity to explore cutting-edge casual games topics with the leaders in the space. In addition to the keynote speeches previously announced, additional featured sessions and speakers covering a wide range of topics include:

• “How To Survive The Recession of 2009” moderated by Joel Brodie of Gamezebo with panelists Daniel Bernstein of Sandlot Games, Matthias Schmidt-Pfitzner, King.com, Paul Thelen of Big Fish Games and Sergey Zanin of Alawar;

• “iPhone: The Game Changer” moderated by Chris James of Pocketgamer with panelists Philippe Dao of Gameloft, Ami Ben-David of Oberon Media/I-Play, and Wilhelm That of Real Games;

• “Getting Into Xbox Live Arcade and Xbox Live Community Games” by Boris Schneider-Johne, Microsoft Xbox Division;

• “Defining the Business of Social Networks,” moderated by Arseny Lebedev featuring panelists Heidi Henson of Rock You and Derrick Morton of Flowplay;

• “Crazy Chicken: The Story of the Moorhuhn” by Helge Borgarts, Managing Director, Phenomedia Publishing;

• “Publisher Showdown 2009” moderated by Jeremy Snook of Real Games with panelists Tony Leamer of Oberon Media/I-Play, Lars Brubaker of Reflexive Entertainment, and Dan Prigg of Real Games;

• “The Mythical Casual MMO” moderated by Neal Sinno featuring panelists Simon Seefeldt of Jagex (Runescape), Nils Holger of BigPoint, and Carsten Van Husen of Gameforge;

• “Fortune Tellers” featuring panelists Michael Schade of Fishlabs and Christopher Kassulke of Handy Games.

Official Networking Events Announced

The CGA also announced the official Casual Connect parties and networking events will kick off Tuesday night February 10th at 8 pm with a party sponsored by RealGames at Café Seeterrassen and continue with live music and drinks at Club Mojo from 8 pm to midnight on Wednesday, February 11th. All members of the Casual Games Association are invited to these fun and productive networking events where the major players in casual games relax and have fun.
