Update: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare UK physical sales drop just 55% in Week Two

Dishonored 2 debuts at No.3

Update: This story originally went live with news that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare suffered a week-on-week decline of 65 percent. This was a typo in GfK's figures, and the number should have been 55 percent.

As a result, Infinite Warfare's second week sales drop was actually lower than the one suffered by Black Ops III last week, which is positive news for Activision's shooter.

Original story: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare suffered another disappointing week at UK retail.

The shooter, which reviewed well, suffered a 65 percent drop in its second week in the UK (boxed figures only). By comparison, last year's Black Ops III suffered a second week drop of just 57 percent. Call of Duty had a lower-than-expected start to life last week, with launch sales down almost 50 percent compared with its predecessor. However, it was still the second biggest launch of the year behind FIFA 17.

Another game that had a slightly disappointing launch was last week's Dishonored 2, which debuts at No.3 with launch sales 38 percent lower than its predecessor. This needs to be taken into context, however, because the original Dishonored launched on 360, PC and PS3 in 2012 - and the install bases for those machines were far higher than the current install base for PS4 and Xbox One. Furthermore, digital sales have been steadily increasing in the console space in recent years and Dishonored 2's reviews (which are so far positive) have only just started to appear. With those caveats, the game may well have performed solidly in its first week, and with five weekends still to go until Christmas.

In more positive news, Battlefield 1 continues its strong performance with a 39 percent sales dip. It is currently the UK's top selling new shooter of the year, although Call of Duty is closing in.

Titanfall 2 is also showing some signs of recovery. For the second week in a row it suffered a relatively mild drop in sales of 42 percent. It is still far behind its predecessor, but it could still reach a decent audience.

Elsewhere, new announcements and discounts have propelled Overwatch back into the Top Ten (sales up 144 percent), along with LEGO Dimensions (up 556 percent) and Star Wars Battlefront has also returned to the Top Ten, almost a year since its launch, with a sales rise of 30 percent. That's three EA shooters in the Top Ten.

There's also a VR game in the charts, with Ubisoft's Eagle Flight landing at No.39.
