Byron leaves BHPR for Premier

Simon Byron to head up agency's new videogames division

Respected public relations veteran Simon Byron is to leave BHPR to set up a new videogame division for Premier, GamesIndustry.biz can reveal.

Premier currently specialises in consumer and corporate PR for film, DVD, theatre, online and TV, with clients including the British Film Commission, EMAP, Celador Films, Fox Kids, Walt Disney TV and Zenith.

Byron has been a director of Barrington Harvey PR, most recently responsible for Activision's market-leading Guitar Hero franchise. It's expected he will be charged with securing publishing clients for Premier as it branches out into the videogame business, when he starts his new role next week.

BHPR is one of the major specialist PR companies in the industry, with clients that include Codemasters, Eidos and Take-Two, although former long-time client ELSPA recently moved its account to Burson-Marsteller.
