Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari, has joined casual games company NeoEdge Networks.

Bushnell takes up a position on the board of directors for the company that runs gaming portal MostFun.com.

NeoEdge has also announced partnerships with casual games companies Alawar and PlayFirst, with titles joining a portfolio which already includes games from MumboJumbo and Merscom.

The NeoEdge network uses an ad-supported business model, where players have access to free gaming featuring advertisements and product branding.

"Casual games continue to grow in popularity and are virtually an untapped resource for advertisers," commented Alex Terry, CEO of NeoEdge.

"Consumers who play videogames represent a targeted and captive audience in demographic areas that are key to NeoEdge.

"They also spend several hours a day playing games, giving advertisers and publishers unprecedented opportunities to integrate their brands and messages into this immersive consumer experience."
