PARIS - Feb. 5, 2008 - Vivendi Games Mobile, a division of Vivendi Games, today announced the launch of Pub Darts 180 for mobile phones, the sequel to the original Pub Darts mobile game, developed by UK-based mobile game developer FinBlade. Pub Darts 180 is now available on mobile phones throughout Europe.
The launch of Pub Darts 180 marks the long-anticipated return of the Pub Darts franchise to the mobile gaming market, first introduced in 2004 by independent UK developer/publisher IOMO. Upon its launch in 2004, Pub Darts rapidly became a best-selling mobile title in the UK and enjoyed success throughout Europe, creating an early example of original-brand, casual gameplay success.
"The sequel to the hugely popular Pub Darts takes the game to the next level, with more challenges, in-game characters and user-defined options," said Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile. "We are delighted about working with FinBlade to bring this popular franchise back to the market. We look forward to Pub Darts 180 creating a new standard for quick, casual mobile gaming fun across a wide range of carriers and portals."
Developed by the same team behind the original Pub Darts, Pub Darts 180 allows players to shoot darts and show off their flicking skills in a cozy tavern-like environment that recreates the atmosphere of a typical English pub. Single & Multi-player (hotseat) modes, a selection of fun in-game characters and an intuitive control system builds on the successful gameplay of the title's best-selling predecessor.
"It's great to see Pub Darts returning to the marketplace and with the fantastic support of Vivendi Games Mobile, we look forward to the game exceeding the success and expectations of fans of the original," said John Chasey, president of FinBlade.
