Games retailer and rental specialist Blockbuster is in advanced talks to buy online movie rental site Movielink, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Games retailer and rental specialist Blockbuster is in advanced talks to buy online movie rental site Movielink, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Movielink, which is one of the online rental companies in talks with Sony over movie downloads for the PSP, could be picked up for under US $50 million (EUR 37.8m) in cash and stock.

The online company is owned by a joint venture of MGM Studios, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios and Warner Bros.
