Blitz Announces Dates for Student Open Days in 2007

Registration for limited places now open

5th January 2007. Leamington Spa, Warks, UK. Blitz Games today announces dates for four Student & Lecturers' Open Days planned for 2007. The Open Days are exclusively for students and staff on videogames related courses in universities throughout the UK, with a total of 100 places being made available across the four dates.

These dates have been organised in response to the resounding success of the inaugural Blitz Games Open Days held in June and July of 2006 which were attended by over 50 students and 25 lecturers nationwide, as well as representatives from Skillset. Interest this year has already been strong enough for the company to add a fourth date to enable more lecturers and educators to attend. The agenda for each Open Day will give the attendees unique insights into the various processes involved in creating top quality videogames and help them to prepare appropriate portfolio work for submission to potential employers.

Kim Blake, Open Day Coordinator at Blitz Games commented, "We were pleasantly surprised by the number and quality of students who attended last year and firmly believe that it's crucial for the industry to work much more closely with our future employees. As consoles become ever more popular so does the demand for content increases and we want to be at the forefront of developing that content - to do that we need the best people."

The dates for 2007's Open Days are: Friday 16th March & Friday 23rd March (for students) and Friday 30th March & Friday 13th April (for lecturers/educators). Interested students and lecturers/educators can register for a place from January 5th (closing date January 31st) at www.BlitzGames.com/OpenDays. A limited number of sponsored places for students will also be available upon request.

Blitz Games recently won the 'Special Achievement' Award in the Warwickshire Employer of Choice Awards and is known to have one of the industry's best working environments with staff enjoying a range of benefits while developing some of the biggest selling videogames on PlayStation®2, Nintendo Wii®, GameCube, Xbox and Xbox 360.
