Babel launches global mobile outsourcing division

Outsourcing specialist Babel has launched what is claims to be the first truly global mobile deployment service aimed at developers, publishers and media companies.

Outsourcing specialist Babel has launched what is claims to be the first truly global mobile deployment service aimed at developers, publishers and media companies.

Making use of its divisions in the UK, Canada and India, the service hopes to help content providers avoid the need to recruit and train expensive internal staff and cut down on the waste created during development downtime.

"For a global launch, mobile content providers have to deploy literally thousands of assets to an ever-increasing number of global operators," details Algy Williams, managing director of Babel Media.

"Deployment is the current pain point for content providers — the recent de-centralisation of Vodaphone in Europe alone created more than 15 new requirements," he added.

Citing a recent project for the launch of mobile content based on the recent James Bond film, Ken Bartlett, executive director added: "It was essential that we delivered the SKUs for Casino Royale on time. It would have been disastrous to miss the film release, and Babel had everything deployed to over 35 operators by premier night."
