Babel adds BREW support

Outsourcing specialists offer porting, QA and more

Babel has extended it mobile outsourcing services with the inclusion of full support for BREW, including porting, QA testing, and True BREW Testing (TBT) pre-certification QA.

The company is one of just two testing houses for the Vodafone Live! certification programme, as well as being one of three test houses approved for Microsoft's Xbox games console. Babel's 120 seat North American facility, based in Montreal, opened its doors in September to offer multi-platform, multi-lingual localisation QA for PC, console, handheld and mobile platforms, including J2ME porting and deployment.

Managing director Algy Williams commented: "We are very pleased to announce this new range of services. They offer Content Providers a full BREW post-production solution, plus complete platform coverage when combined with our J2ME services. We're also offering substantial cost savings, which is what the industry needs! Babel is already the most cost-effective Java Verified Certification house and we aim to offer the same for True BREW Testing (TBT) Pre-Certification QA".

Offering content providers a complete end-to-end solution for deployment of multi-platform content throughout Europe and North America, Babel currently employs more than 100 mobile testers in its facilities in Brighton, UK, New Delhi and Montreal. The company provides functionality QA, localisation QA and certification, translation, handset to handset porting for both J2ME and BREW, and content delivery direct to Operator portals.

Babel, listed in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 as one of the UK's fastest growing private companies, expects to continue its North American and international expansion plans, and believes the introduction of BREW service support will significantly bolster its current client base, which currently includes companies such as Vodafone, Namco, THQ Wireless, Disney Interactive, iFone, EA Mobile, I-Play, Orange, Motorola, Eidos, Bandai, Gameloft and Glu.
