AWOMO

Chaps behind www.DriverHeaven.net to help establish GDI's digital delivery tech.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Windsor, UK, 19th Jan 2009: GDI Game Domain International plc and Heaven Media Group today jointly announced a global partnership to provide games download solutions to gaming hardware manufacturers using GDI’s super-fast, proprietary digital download technology platform AWOMO™ ( www.awomo.com). Heaven Media Group, owner of leading tech site www.DriverHeaven.net and other major technology and gaming communities, will be applying its expertise in the PC marketplace to establish GDI’s AWOMO platform as the delivery mechanism of choice for hardware manufacturers wanting to deliver full AAA PC games to their customers.

The AWOMO platform is uniquely positioned to provide manufacturers and the gamers who use their products significant benefits compared with other delivery methods. In general, manufacturers who bundle games with their products do so on DVD-ROM, with associated production and packaging costs. This has a number of other drawbacks – for example, consumers typically have no choice of game, and the manufacturer also has to pay for the licence fee for the game irrespective of whether it is used.

In contrast, companies using AWOMO as a delivery mechanism can offer consumers a choice of titles to unlock with their purchase, all using GDI’s proprietary game delivery technology, up to 20x faster than conventional downloads – in many cases faster than installing from DVD-ROM. Customers who choose to continue to use the delivery platform for game purchases also generate long term incremental revenue opportunities for the hardware manufacturers.

“Our partnership with the Heaven Media Group will prove invaluable in tailoring our highly flexible AWOMO platform to meet the needs of a wide variety of gaming hardware manufacturers, from video card vendors to system integrators,” explained Patrick Lorkin, Trading Director of GDI. “We have enjoyed a productive CES and are looking forward to expanding our relationships both with Heaven Media Group’s team and their highly valued communities.”

“In GDI, we have found a partner with a cutting edge download technology with flexible application for a wide variety of our customers. We’re pleased to be working together to proliferate the platform across the PC hardware market, and our communities have already begun to trial and support the Beta process as the relationship progresses. We anticipate announcements in due course as we reveal the first fruits of the partnership,” added Mark Reed, chairman, Heaven Media Group.

Further information for consumers, editors and potential partners is available from www.awomo.com, where the delivery platform is currently in Public Beta with a series of games free to play.
