Auto Assault closure won't harm Lego project - NetDevil

Developer NetDevil has told GamesIndustry.biz that the closure of its NCsoft published MMOG Auto Assault won't affect the development of future project Lego Universe.

Developer NetDevil has told GamesIndustry.biz that the closure of its NCsoft published MMOG Auto Assault won't affect the development of future project Lego Universe.

NCsoft confirmed the closure of Auto Assault earlier this month, following a decrease in the number of players of the sc-fi MMO.

But NetDevil president Scott Brown insists that the development of virtual world Lego Universe — due for release in late 2008 — will not be harmed by the closure.

"It will have no effect on the LEGO Universe project," said Brown.

"In terms of how it effects the NetDevil business, we will simply be moving the team members supporting that project onto other projects internally," he added.

NetDevil and The Lego Group announced the joint Lego Universe project in June this year, promising a child-safe alternative to other MMOG's on the market.
