Vodafone offers iPhone to customers with min £30 contract

Operator to launch handset on January 14

Vodafone is to offer the iPhone to its customers from January 14, the operator has announced, with the cheapest contract being GBP 30 a month.

Pre-orders are being taken now ahead of its launch on the network. Following the ending of 02's exclusivity period for the Apple iPhone earlier this year, it was confirmed both Orange and Vodafone would begin offering the handset. Orange launched with the iPhone in November.

The cheapest monthly deal customers will be able to get with Vodafone is GBP 30 a month with a 24 month contract, plus an additional GBP 59 for the 8GB 3G iPhone. With a GBP 35 a month contract the handset is free. There's also a range of tariffs for small business customers.

"We started preparing our network over a year ago so that iPhone customers will really feel the advantage of being with Vodafone," said Guy Laurence, CEO of Vodafone UK. "We will offer an outstanding iPhone experience wherever our customers live, work and travel, delivering speed and reliability – something our customers have told us they really value."
