SC: Conviction discounted following manufacturing fault

Ubisoft knocks $10 off special edition as USB drives found defective

Ubisoft has confirmed it will reduce the price of the Splinter Cell: Conviction collector's edition in North America after finding that many of the included USB drives are defective.

The game's price will be dropped from $80 to $70 - a move that has been taken after "random sampling" of the premium packs revealed that a number of the USB drives didn't work properly.

A Ubisoft representative speaking to GameSpot said that not all of the drives had the problem. But they declined to say what percentage were affected.

The USB drives were supposed to include a "making of" video, wallpapers and concept art from the Tom Clancy game.

Consumers that find themselves with one of the faulty drives will be able to download the missing content instead from the game's official website, said Ubisoft.
