Terminal Reality licenses out Infernal Engine

Six studios sign up to use development tool behind the Ghostbsuters videogame

Terminal Reality has announced its next-generation development platform, the Infernal Engine, is now open for third parties to license.

The engine, having been used in the development of the Ghostbusters: The Video Game, has found six new licensees, including: Escalation Studios, Threewave Software, Red Fly Studio, Wideload Games, Piranha Games, and SpiderMonk Entertainment.

"We're really pleased to be working with such an amazing list of partners," said Joe Kreiner, VP sales and marketing with Terminal Reality. "With such a talented group of licensees, the Infernal Engine will be an integral part of delivering many critically acclaimed titles.

Kreiner added: "Terminal Reality's Infernal Engine is a breakthrough in efficiency for game development middleware. Our licensees can leverage their work across more platforms, in less time, than any other engine – giving them a competitive edge critical for success."

"Our licensees get stunning visuals, fast time to market, and the support of Terminal Reality - one of most experienced independent game developers in the industry."

Dan Irish, CEO of Threewave Software, added: "Infernal's integrated toolset and speedy build process help us prototype levels and gameplay quickly."

"Our artists have a lot of control over the look of the game compared to other popular engines."
