PlayJam teams with Sony, Samsung and Apple for TV games service

Company plans games network covering over 450 million connected devices

The world's largest TV gaming network PlayJam has secured distribution deals for the launch of its new connected games service with Sony, Samsung and Apple, it announced today.

Its upcoming service will initially be made available through Sony Bravia HDTVs, Apple's iPhone, UPC, Dish India and Freeview, with the network set to grow rapidly over the next few years.

"We're delighted to have partnered with some of the largest CE and media organisations in the world to create a vast distribution network for our games," said Jasper Smith, chairman and founder of PlayJam. "We believe casual games will be a key revenue driver for connected devices, shifting the focus of our business to become the leading TV games publisher.”

The company also confirmed its applications will be available as an internet feature with Samsung LED and LCD televisions released from this year onwards.

It's a move that will bring the PlayJam experience to millions of TV sets in multiple countries added Smith, significantly fuelling growth of the brand.

Originally set up in 1999 as one of the first interactive broadcast channels, PlayJam's digital TV service has generated 8 billion downloads from its library of 550 casual games in the last five years.
