Fist of the North Star tops Japanese chart

Yakuza 4 knocked into second position by new entry from Koei

Koei's Fist of the North Star: Warriors on PlayStation 3 has topped the Japanese software chart, knocking last week's number one - Yakuza 4 - into second place.

The game sold in excess of 385,000 copies throughout the week on PS3, while - in comparison - the Xbox 360 version managed just 30,000 and landed at number seven in the chart.

Sony's God of War III entered the software chart at number six with sales of 43,000, while the final new entry to the top ten was Saki Portable from Alchemist at number ten.

Three Nintendo titles, Pokemon Ranger: Tracks of Light, New Super Mario Bros Wii and Friend Collection all held onto their last week positions of three, four and five respectively.

I don't understand the Japanese market. How is it possible that this fame made it to spot no. 1 and God of War on 6th?!

Fist of the North Star is a franchise dating back the the early 80s. Buronson (the author of the Manga) is a legend among manga fans, so no wonder anything related to FotNS gets heads up there.

And besides... have you SEEN the Anime? C'mon, Kratos is a whimp compared to the epic awesomness of Kenshiro!
