FIFA keeps Uncharted 2 off top spot

FIFA 10 sells 1m in UK; New Sonic and Mario, Fallout, Brutal Legend crash top ten

Sony and Naughty Dog's critically acclaimed Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has been unable to knock EA's FIFA 10 from the top of the latest UK all formats chart.

As a single format exclusive Uncharted 2 has had to settle for second place in the charts, as EA's sports sim enjoys a third week in the top spot - despite a 54 per cent drop in sales from the previous week.

Chart-Track reports that FIFA 10 has already sold over 1 million units in the UK, passing the milestone a week earlier than FIFA 09. The game was recently announced as EA's fastest selling sports title of all time, with sales across million exceeding 1.7 million units in its first week.

In one of the busiest pre-Christmas release weeks so far the second highest new entry was Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Winter Games on Wii (with 72 per cent of sales) and DS. The game is widely expected to be one of the best sellers of the season, although like most Wii titles its debut has been relatively modest.

Also new at number seven is Double Fine and EA's Brutal Legend on Xbox 360 (73 per cent of sales) and PS3. After a troubled development history, including a last minute attempt by Activision to block its release, EA will likely be watching future sales with great interest.

The final new entry in the top 10 is Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition which contains all of the previously released downloadable expansions and, unusually for a re-release, has received heavy television marketing. 56 per cent of the game's sales were on the PS3, for which the downloadable extras are available at retail for the first time.

There are no other new entries in the rest of the top 40, although a number of older Wii titles, including Super Smash Bros. Brawl at number 12 and Carnival: Funfair Games at number 25, have reappeared thanks to newly promoted retailer deals.
