Artix's 2011 acquisition strategy

On a mission to pick up as many devs as possible.

Phase I began in December 2009 with the acquisition of the Player vs. Player MMO EpicDuel. One year and 80 million in-game battles later, EpicDuel has seen a 3400% increase in its player base and a 2900% increase in monthly gross profits. Additionally, the game has benefited from Artix’s in-house customer support team, art and programming talent, servers, bandwidth, and payment solutions (including pre-paid game cards in stores across the United States, Canada, and other countries).

“Approaching Artix Entertainment was one of the best decisions of my life. I poured my soul into developing EpicDuel; our team was like a small town band trying to make it big,” said Jonathan Duran, creator and game lead of EpicDuel. “When we joined Artix Entertainment, our players cheered!  Artix provided us with several powerful new servers, an amazing support staff, and excited new players. Best of all, we maintained complete control of the game.”

Phase II will focus on acquiring another indie video game company to join the Artix Entertainment game lineup. A prime candidate would be a studio with an interesting new game and strong community of players. Technologies that interest Artix include:

            + Online browser-based Flash games

+ Social networking Games (Facebook, etc.)

            + iOS / Android Games

            + Emerging technology development: HTML5/Canvas, 3D, etc.

“We are a lot easier to work with than the Borg,” commented Adam Bohn, Founder/CEO of Artix Entertainment. “We have a true love for video games and have an eight-year history of doing whatever it takes to make our players happy. This is why we are looking for new and interesting games to bring to our enormous player base – along with talented game makers to become part of our family. Our goal for 2011 is to double in size by bringing our players two hit games: One from us… and one from you.”
