8th Birthday

Just because an 8th birthday isn't traditionally one of the 'big' ones doesn't mean they can't celebrate it.

Giebelstadt, April 25, 2008

The renowned team of HandyGames, one of the last living legends of the mobile games industry, celebrates its 8th company anniversary. The leading independent German developer and publisher of mobile games can look back on a highly successful history and a positive business year of 2007 with a net profit of around 10%.

The company has produced more than 100 titles and received way over 100 international awards. Constant innovation and highest quality Made in Germany are firmly embedded in the companys philosophy. 100% of our downloadable games are produced at our headquarters in the heart of Germany., says Markus Kassulke, CEO of HandyGames. The fresh ideas and innovative concepts coming from us have contributed to start new trends and to shape progress in the market. Due to our high reputation and quality, we are increasingly the first choice for license holders to create mobile versions of their own brands. This fact makes us proud.

Currently, 35 experienced employees produce approximately 25 titles a year. Thats a very high efficiency if you compare it to the numbers of our competitors, who sometimes need a couple of hundred employees to reach the same number of releases, says Udo Bausewein, founder and CFO. Our scalable organisation and the optimized cost structure both enable us - in the mid-term - to double our titles per year and to even tackle the industrys big players.

HandyGames roadmap for 2008 is full of highly diversified and strong titles. The companys mid-term goal is to break into the North American market with high quality products. Especially the balanced mix of licenses, casual- and hardcore-games, aims at a wide target audience and will lead to a successful year - again.

Since the foundation in 2000, the contact persons in our management havent changed for our partners. A small miracle, if you consider the current trends in the mobile games sector, the continuing consolidation and the increasing trend to job hopping, says Christopher Kassulke, CEO and founder, commenting the companys continuity. The name HandyGames will continue to shape the global market for mobile games and will continue to constantly provide innovation.

The self-financed company sees itself optimally positioned. High entry barriers and financial challenges for newcomers, stumbling competitors and the capacities set free by that, set the course for growth and the gaining of market shares in the short-term.

HandyGames is one of the leading independent developers of games for mobile phones. The company has offices in Giebelstadt, Germany and in Bucharest, Romania and has its very own international distribution network. The company was founded in 2000 by Markus Kassulke, Christopher Kassulke and Udo Bausewein, has more than 35 employees and plans to expand further.

The huge and diverse variety of products, which all excel by high quality, consists of downloadable and pre-installed games, as well as applications and games for the mobile Internet. HandyGames has developed top sellers such as Gothic 3 The Beginning, Panzer Tactics, My Model Train, Townsmen or Flitzer.

The companys long-time success is reflected in close co-operations with producers of mobile phones and network operators, as well as in the many international prizes it has won.
