Edgegap raises $7m in Series A funding

Company intends to expand team and provide additional online support services to games studios

Today online gaming service company Edgegap announced that it has raised $7 million in Series A funding.

The company said that the investment will go towards its ongoing development of reducing online gaming latency and streamlining support.

Edgegap also intends on expanding its team as well as providing more services to game studios.

The investment round was led by Konvoy Ventures while previous pre-seed investor GFR Fund joined the funding. Liberty Global and Akami participated as well.

"Our goal is to build on the idea of a content delivery network, which already exists for cloud applications," said Edgegap CEO and founder Mathieu Duperre.

"In that sense, Edgegap is building a modern application delivery network, combining a highly distributed infrastructure footprint with a quick decision-making and deployment solution."
