Former Apple Arcade head leading PlayStation's mobile strategy

Nicola Sebastiani joined in July, after seven years at Apple

Former Apple Arcade head of content Nicola Sebastiani has joined PlayStation as its new vice president, head of mobile.

As reported by Push Square, the appointment actually dates back from July.

Prior to joining PlayStation Studios, Sebastiani worked at Apple for over seven years, first as head of games business management for the App Store from 2013, before becoming Apple Arcade's head of content in 2018.

Before that, he worked at Ubisoft for almost three years as digital product manager.

Sony shared its intention to target mobile in a corporate strategy briefing back in May, saying it was planning to work on mobile games based on its own IP, to "complement" its line-up.

We addressed the topic in an opinion piece from contributing editor Rob Fahey, who argued that putting major console titles on smartphones is not an easy win.
