Steven Spohn raises $1m for AbleGamers

Charity COO's Spawn Together campaign reaches goal for his 40th birthday

AbleGamers COO Steven Spohn announced that it has raised $1 million for its Spawn Together campaign.

The milestone was announced yesterday by Spohn via Twitter.

The Spawn Together initiative was created by him with a goal of raising $1 million before his 40th birthday which happens next month.

"We spawned together, all of us have come together and we have managed to raise a million dollars for people with disabilities who want to play games, just like everyone else," he said.

Founded in 2004 by Mark Barlet, AbleGamer's mission is to help people with disabilities improve their quality of life by using video games to foster community, fun, and accessibility.

The non-profit also collaborates with developers to create games and assistive technology that allows games to be more accessible to those who are disabled.
