Tripledot Studios raises $78 million

"The funding round will allow us to accelerate our growth by acquiring studios that can benefit from our expertise"

Mobile games developer Tripledot Studios has raised $78 million in a series A funding round.

Eldridge, Access Industries and Lightspeed Venture Partners contributed to the round.

Tripledot CEO Lior Shiff commented: "This funding round is a major milestone for us. It's a privilege to partner with leading investors who share our long-term focus and vision to create a truly great business.

"We will continue building brilliant games ourselves and are excited to rollout the next generation of Tripledot titles later this year. At the same time, the funding round will allow us to accelerate our growth by acquiring studios that can benefit from our expertise."

Tripledot Studios was founded in 2017 by industry veterans from King, Facebook, and Product Madness.

In November 2018, it raised $8 million in a seed round led by venture capital firm Velo Partners. Back then, chief operations officer Akin Babayigit told GamesIndustry.biz that the first phase of their strategy was to go to market "with games that we know work."

Since then, the firm successfully developed and published Blackjack, Solitaire, and Woodoku. Tripledot has an active user base of 11 million people, and tripled its headcount in the last year, now employing 90 staff.
