Esports merchandise firm We Are Nations launches Nations Ventures

Investment fund is seeking early stage esports companies, first deals expected in Q3 this year

NASHVILLE, TN (May 26th, 2020) --- We Are Nations announced today its participation in the formation of Nations Ventures, an investment vehicle to promote the growth of the esports industry.

Nations Ventures will invest in early-stage companies in esports that do not compete directly with the Nations core business, but provide opportunities for collaboration, product and marketing enhancement and other economies of scale.

"Nations Ventures seemed like a smart next step for We Are Nations" said Patrick Mahoney, Company CEO. "Like I'm sure everyone else has been doing since the start of the COVID-19 crisis, I've spent a lot more time on calls talking to people a bit more outside my normal orbit than usual. These connections have been great and have opened my eyes to a bunch of ideas that We Are Nations would love to be part of".

Nations Ventures is majority owned by We Are Nations, with the balance of the ownership held by both new and existing investors in the We Are Nations family. "This is an excellent time to launch the fund." said Dan Cardell, Managing Partner. "We're seeing tremendous opportunities in the esports space due to the relationships that We Are Nations has built."

Nations Ventures plans to start making investments in portfolio companies by the start of the 3rd quarter of 2020. This initiative, led by experienced venture capital professionals, leverages the We Are Nations network of industry experts and leaders. Since its founding in 2016, We Are Nations has assembled an all-star team of business development, branding, merchandising and investment professionals ideally suited for Nations Ventures.
