Top three unchanged in App Annie's annual mobile publisher chart

Tencent, NetEase and Activision Blizzard lead a top ten with only two new entries

App Annie's annual list of the highest-earning mobile publishers indicates a degree of stasis in mobile games, with the three top spots unchanged from 2019.

Tencent was again the number one publisher, based on App Annie's revenue estimates from the App Store and Google Play.

Eight of the top ten publishers from last year also made the top ten for 2020. The only new entries were Playtika and InterActiveCorp, which finished in ninth and tenth -- they replaced Mixi and Line, which dropped into the top 20.

Publishers with headquarters in Asia represented just over half of the list, with 27 of the 52 positions overall, and five out of the top ten. However, the US was the single most prominent country, with 17 positions overall and two of the top ten places.

The biggest movers in games publishing were Zynga and Scopely, which both rose ten places, to 11th and 41st respectively.

You can find the full list here, but the top ten is reproduced below.
