Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has sold around 8m units

EA says single-player adventure hit the "high-end" of its expectations, projects 10m units by end of fiscal year

Though EA and publishers like it may be leaning into more games with ongoing content and live services, the company now has a shining example on its hands of the power of single-player in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

During its Q3 earnings call with investors following the company's quarterly financial results, the publisher announced that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order had sold "beyond our projections for the quarter," and later reiterated the result by saying it "hit the high-end" of its expected sales.

What were those projections, then? Originally, between six and eight million. While EA didn't give an official sales figure for the game, that means Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has sold somewhere in the vicinity of eight million copies since its launch.

Additionally, CFO and COO Blake Jorgensen upped the company's projections for the game, saying EA anticipated Fallen Order would reach the 10 million unit milestone by the end of the current quarter (Q4, ending in March).
