Call of Duty Mobile is Google Play's best game of 2019

Tencent and Activision collaboration won top award as well as users' choice and best competitive

Call of Duty Mobile received three total honors in Google Play's best games of 2019, including the top spot as best overall game.

It also won the users' choice award, and a spot in the best five competitive games alongside Supercell's Brawl Stars, Rumble Stars Football, Tacticool - 5v5 shooter, and Tennis Clash: 3D Sports.

Call of Duty Mobile broke records during its October launch, reaching 35 million downloads in three days and 100 million in its first week -- the most of any mobile game.

Google also honored five games as Best Indie (Ailment, Chuchel, Grimvalor, Stardew Valley, and Tiny Room Stories: Tiny Mystery), five for Best Casual (Angry Birds Dream Blast, Diner Dash Adventures, Golf Peaks, Mario Kart Tour, and Vineyard Valley: Match & Blast), and five for Best Innovative (Archero, Assassin's Creed Rebellion, Dragonest Game's Auto Chess, The Elder Scrolls: Blades, and Minit).

Apple similarly released its own, very different game of the year list earlier today.
