Gayming Magazine to host week-long live event

Plans include exhibition of LGBTQ game artists' work, writers and journalist lounge, dedicated radio show and 8-Bit Drag Show

The team behind Gayming Magazine will host its first live event later this month in order to bring the games industry's LGBTQ community together.

Gayming Live will run from Monday, September 30 to Saturday, October 5 and will host a series of events from a pop-up shot in London's Great Windmill Street.

The program for the week will include an exhibition of work by LGBTQ game artists, a LGBTQ journalists and writers lounge, a workshop on writing, careers workshops, an industry mixer and Ginny Lemon's 8-Bit Drag Show.

Throughout the week, there will also be a Gayming radio show supporting this activity. All events will be free to attend.

Gayming Magazine first went live earlier this year, and already has a readership of 17,000.

"[The site] has gone from strength to strength since we launched just three months ago - exceeding our own expectations," said founder and editor Robin Gray.

"We're delighted to be hosting the Gayming Live event, which will take all the great elements of the Magazine and make them truly interactive."

Among the event's supporters are anti-bullying charity Ditch The Label, Soho Radio, and gay dating app Chappy, as well as games firms Amiqus, Green Man Gaming, Fusebox Games and Magic Notion.
