WeQ acquires Booster Studios

Mobile ad firm rebrands developer to WeQ Studios, will offer publishing and player acquisition services

WeQ today announced the acquisition of Booster Studios, which it has renamed WeQ Studios.

Booster's first release, Tower Raise: Building & Craft Games launched on Android in December and is no longer available. Its two subsequent titles, Helix Madness: Labyrinth Tower Games and Tower Raise: Rise Up Building Games, both debuted in April. After the WeQ acquisition, it launched Cube Flip: Color Dash Jumping Arcade Game in May.

According to App Annie, the company's games are most popular in South America, with Tower Raise: Rise Up Building Games and Helix Madness having reached the top 500 arcade game rankings in nine South American countries. Helix Madness has not charted elsewhere, while Tower Raise: Rise Up Building Games has also reached the top 500 arcade game ranking in Cambodia and Nepal, narrowly missing that mark in Iraq. Cube Flip has only reached the top 500 in Colombia, where it is currently 117th on the arcade game rankings.

WeQ has said the studio will continue to create its own hyper-casual games, as well as offer its publisher and player acquisition services to other developers.
