Com2uS acquires 51.9% stake in Day7

Korean developer/publisher also secures management rights to visual novel studio

Developer and publisher Com2uS has announced it has acquired a 51.9% stake in fellow Korean visual novel and story game developer Day 7. In addition, it has acquired management rights for the studio.

As reported by Pocketgamer.biz, Com2uS pursued the studio to secure a "new growth engine." Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Day7 is primarily focused on story-based and visual novel titles, and has released around 30 so far. It is currently working on a role-playing game targeting women, entitled Wannabe.

One year ago, Com2uS merged its US entities with Gamevil, which acquired Com2uS back in 2013. For now, the Korean headquarters of both companies remain separate entities.
