Investment Summit! Meeting Zone! Career Fair! Rezzed Talks! Industry Party! UKIE AGM! GamesAid Cheque Giving!

EGX is under two weeks away, and Gamesindustry.biz will once again be there in a major way.

From our headline Investment Summit and the four-day Career Fair, past parties and meeting zones, AGMs and presentations. Here is the line-up for the weekend so far:

Thursday, September 20th

Investment Summit Website

The big one kicks off 9:30 Thursday morning with a line-up of speakers that might just be the best we've ever had - featuring London Venture Partners, Fig, Humble Bundle, Take-Two's Private Division and loads more. At the time of writing less than a handful of tickets remain. Each ticket includes EGX access plus a networking lunch. Do note that access to the specific Investment Summit meeting system is now closed for indie developers. Almost 300 people are set to attend, including over 200 developers and 30 publishers and investors.

UKIE AGM
Seminar Rooms 1-3 (above halls 7&8)

Also taking place on Thursday is the UKIE AGM, featuring talks from special guests, data and plans for the upcoming year by the UK games trade body.

GamesAid Cheque Giving Ceremony
Seminar Rooms 1-3 (above halls 7&8)

GamesAid will be hosting its annual Cheque Giving Ceremony at EGX this year. The Cheque Giving Ceremony awards UK charities that support disabled and disadvantaged youth/children with funds, as voted for by video game professionals. It's always an emotional event, where the games industry can witness where the money it's raised is going and the difference it is going to make to people's lives.

The EGX Industry Party
The Jam House, 3-5 Saint Paul's Square, Birmingham
Buy tickets here

EGX day one has finished and the thing you most need is a drink. Happily this is the place for you to take the pressure off, chat to friends and colleagues and enjoy the free bar at Birmingham's premium live music venue. Amiqus and Intel are the sponsors.

Thursday, September 20th - Sunday, September 23rd

Gamesindustry.biz Industry Zone
Suite 30, Atrium outside EGX halls
9am - 6pm

The place to network and have meetings alongside EGX. This area is available to exhibitors and Investment Summit ticket holders, plus others with an industry pass. Between the Friday and Sunday in particular, a meeting app system is available to arrange meetings formally. Otherwise, just come along, take a table, rest your feet, chat to some colleagues or even to us!

Gamesindustry.biz Career Fair
EGX Show Floor (Rezzed Zone)
10am - 6pm

Here's the place to go to learn about careers in the games industry. Featuring universities, plus developers such as Sumo Digital, CCP, Rebellion and Career Fair favourites Creative Assembly. Our friends over at UKIE will also be back, presenting a series of talks on games industry careers that run from Thursday all the way until Sunday. Full schedule to be revealed soon. It is free to all EGX attendees.

The Rezzed Sessions
Suites 31 and 32, Atrium outside EGX halls
10am - 6pm

Although technically not games industry specific, the Rezzed Sessions discuss making games, promoting games and the more business-orientated side of the industry. Top talks to check out include chats from the composers of hit MMO RuneScape, IO Interactive going undercover on Hitman 2, the making of Dust and Dust 2, plus development legend Gwen Frey talks about how to survive as a game developer. Finally, we'll also be hosting a special panel with UK studio Rare, discussing their rich history in the games business.

That is on top of our huge consumer halls featuring hundreds of indie games, upcoming AAA releases, stage shows, esports tournaments, board games, retro games and places to buy the latest merchandise.
