UK Charts: Crash Bandicoot is No.1 again, as World of Warcraft makes No.3

Eighth consecutive week at the top for Activision Blizzard's platformer

Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy is No.1 in the UK Charts for an eighth consecutive week.

A barren summer of new releases, plus Crash's huge popularity in the UK, means the game has eclipsed most major games released in the last few years, with the exception of the FIFA, GTA and Call of Duty games.

Although Crash is No.1 in the All-Formats Charts (which combines all the platform sales together), No.1 in the individual platform charts is World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth. The Blizzard game was No.3 in the All Formats charts, narrowly beaten to No.2 by Grand Theft Auto V, which has risen in sales for a fourth consecutive week.

That means LEGO Incredibles, which has been No.2 in the charts for five weeks, drops down the charts to No.5.

This chart on tracks physical game sales. Digital is not included.

Next week's chart will include new games Shenmue I and II and F1 2018. Both will be vying to stop Crash securing a ninth consecutive No.1 - a feat last achieved by Call of Duty: WWII.

Here is the UKIE/GFK top ten for the week ending August 18th, 2018:
