AppLovin launches publishing division Lion Studios

Pre-launch phase has already seen multiple successful releases, including Love Balls and Weave the Line

Mobile developer discovery platform AppLovin has announced today the launch of a new publishing division, Lion Studios. The division pre-launched in March of this year and has already published several successful games in that period.

Published titles so far include Love Balls, Weave the Line, Draw In, and Cash, Inc., among others. Love Balls is currently ranked the 7th Top Free game on Google Play and 22nd Top Free App on the App Store.

Lion Studios will be headed up by president Rafael Vivas and head of operations Kyler Murlas.

"AppLovin is a growth engine for all app developers, and that approach inherently fuels the mobile development ecosystem," said Vivas. "Lion Studios is an extension of this, and it goes one step further by helping developers publish and promote their apps, empowering great talent to have access to many of the same resources as larger companies."

To celebrate its launch, AppLovin is running a contest for independent developers to submit their games. The four that the company dubs the best gaming apps submitted will be awarded winnings from a prize pool of $300,000.
