The organisers of Reboot Develop have announced major expansion plans to triple the number of conferences it runs.
CEO Damir Đurović opened this week's event with a short opening ceremony, where he revealed a new conference is in the works for Canada, as well as a student event for Europe.
The Croatian city of Dubrovnik will remain the base for the annual spring confernece, but it will be rebranded as Reboot Develop Blue as of next year.
The new Reboot Develop Red will "continue building on our unique signature and quality" in Canada, "one of the most creative games industries out there". The first iteration will take place in autumn 2019, with more information to come in the months ahead.
Durovnic also announced Reboot Develop Uni, a student-focused conference built around feedback and discussions with various leading developers around the world.
This new event will run alongside Reboot Develop Blue, which takes place from April 11 to 13, 2019. Blue will once again be held at the Sheraton hotel in Dubrovnik, while Uni will take place at a location "just ten minutes away."
Durovnic thanked all the supporters who have helped grow Reboot Develop, and declared 2018 as a "truly groundbreaking year" in terms of the conference's speaker line-up and attendance.
"When we started five years ago, no one could have known that in this short time we would have built a conference that not only stands as one of the biggest industry events out there but also one of the most relevant.
"But from now on things are about to change. We are rebranding and spreading our wings event further."
Croteam also took to the stage to show a teaser trailer for Serious Sam 4, which will be fully unveiled at E3 2018 in Los Angeles this June.
