Bethesda names Roy Campbell as new UK MD

Former THQ, Virgin boss has been consulting with Wolfenstein publisher over the past year

Industry veteran Roy Campbell has joined Bethesda Softworks as the publisher's UK managing director.

Campbell has spent more than 30 years working in the UK games industry, holding senior positions at notable games firms such as THQ, Virgin Interactive, City Interactive, Infogrames UK and more.

He will be based in Bethesda's London office, where he will lead the UK team in all local activities and oversee operations across the UK and Ireland.

In a statement announcing his appointment, Bethesda reveals that Campbell has actually been consulting with the publisher for the past year, making this a smoother transition. He will report to European MD Sean Brennan.

"Roy brings great gravitas, experience and knowledge from his many years in the games industry and we feel confident that he can lead the UK team very successfully across all areas of the business", said Brennan.

Campbell added: "It's an honour to join Bethesda at such an exciting time. They had a great 2017 and, with the year ahead, I know that 2018 will be even bigger and better. The UK team is full of amazingly talented individuals who are ready to meet the challenges of the years ahead. I look forward to working alongside such a passionate team and helping them accomplish countless successes."
