UK publisher Curve Digital has announced a new partnership that will put its games on store shelves for the first time.
The company has teamed up with long-running publisher Sold Out to handle the worldwide release of two upcoming titles, starting from the second quarter of this year.
The first title will be the acclaimed wartime management title Bomber Crew, which will release on PS4 and Xbox One this summer. The game was a major hit for Curve on PC, grossing over $1m in just over one week and recouping its total budget in just two days.
Sold Out will publish the console version globally, which will include all DLC.
This will be followed by A Knight's Quest, a 3D adventure game that pays homage to the likes of Zelda and Metroid, which will launch day-and-date alongside the digital version. More titles will be announced at a later date.
Curve Digital has previously created physical editions of its games in limited runs and distributed them via mail order, but this will be the first time the firm's games are released through traditional retail.
"We're really excited about bringing our digital releases into the real world," says Curve MD Jason Perkins. "Whilst we've dabbled with small quantities here and there, our partnership with Sold Out means we can begin to establish a permanent presence, bringing our games to a broader audience. Whilst we're only confirming two titles here today, we expect to announce further titles soon."
