TT Games opens new UK studio to develop LEGO titles for mobile

Former Boss Alien head Jason Avent to lead TT Games Brighton

TT Games, the developer behind the highly-successful LEGO games, today announced it will open a new UK studio.

Based in Brighton, the studio will be specifically focused on designing LEGO games for mobile platforms.

Brighton is well-known as one of the leading cities for games development in the UK outside of London, with Hi-Rez Studios, FuturLab, Electric Square, and Studio Gobo all based in the area, along with many others.

LEGO apps already have an established presence on mobile, but this move could demonstrate a more committed focus on the increasingly lucrative market by publisher Warner Bros.

"There is a huge opportunity for LEGO games on mobile," said Tom Stone, managing director of TT Games.

"We're extraordinarily fortunate to have acquired Playdemic in 2016 as a specialist in this area, and they're working on a new LEGO title in addition to their phenomenally successful Golf Clash."

Former head of Boss Alien, Jason Avent, will serve as head of studio for TT Games Brighton.

"I love LEGO, and I'm thrilled to be able to create new games encompassing all of the wonderful core values of LEGO, designed and built from the ground up for mobile," said Avent.

"Our new titles will be accessible, exciting and of course packed with the trademark TT Games fun and humour. We have an amazing new team of people in Brighton with a wonderful and unique opportunity to bring LEGO to life in a brand-new way."
