Jason Avent joins Trailerfarm as investor and MD

Boss Alien founder takes helm at video specialist

Jason Avent, founder of the hugely successful indie studio Boss Alien, has joined the Trailerfarm as an investor and Managing Director, it was revealed today. Avent actually took the helm at the Brighton video specialist on September 5th, but has been operating 'under the radar' between now and then.

Trailerfarm founder Tony Porter, who worked with Avent at both Climax Racing and Blackrock, welcomed him to the role.

"We've grown steadily over the past five years and it's time to take stock and manage The Trailerfarm as the mature and substantial business it has become. Like us, Jason comes from the games industry. Most recently he founded and led the studio that created the smash-hit mobile game, CSR Racing. He went on to sell the studio to NaturalMotion Games and ultimately Zynga."

Trailerfarm was another of the companies which sprung up in Brighton's south coast development hub after the closure of Blackrock by Disney. Producing trailers, cinematics, footage capture and TV spots, the company has seen considerable growth in the five years since founding, working on for a number of leading clients.

"The Trailer Farm have proven to be a talented, reliable and creative advertising agency for the video-games industry," added Avent. "I'm looking forward to working with them to build on their excellent reputation and capitalise on the great foundations that have been laid over the past five years.

"Games trailers and user acquisition videos are the most important tools in modern video-games marketing. Particularly on mobile devices where the store fronts are so critical and the click-through so immediate. The Trailer Farm are quickly becoming the best in the world at providing these services and i'm happy to be part of this effort.

"I'm sure I'll return to games development again soon but investing in the rather excellent Trailerfarm is too good an opportunity to pass up."
