E3: Bethesda makes old games new again, announces Prey

Reveals Quake Champions and rumored Skyrim remaster

Today at E3 Bethesda brought back some old favorites, made a commitment to virtual reality and announced a new Prey title.

First up was a return for Quake as Quake Champions, a first-person multiplayer shooter for PC. It being a PC title there was also promises of unlocked frame rates and 120Hz.

Arkane Austin's Prey was announced and is set on a space station in 2032. It's the second attempt by Bethesda to revive the franchise; a game called Prey 2 was in development at Human Head as far back as 2011, but the publisher cancelled it when it wasn't coming together.

Dishonored 2 was the real jewel in the crown at the show, with creative director Harvey Smith giving the audience a really good look at Emily Kaldwin, and new city, Karneca. The game will be out on November 11.

There was also talk of Bethesda VR, with the promise of Fallout 4 playable on HTC Vive in 2017.

Card battling game The Elder Scrolls Legends was confirmed for iPhone, Mac and Android and Fallout 4 is getting a bunch of new content allowing players to build vaults, complicated contraptions and take a vacation in the Wasteland, with a snippet of video showing a theme park called Nuka World.

Skyrim Special Edition, a remastered version of the classic Elder Scrolls title, was announced for Xbox One and PS4. As well as being prettier it'll also allow console user access to mods. The Elder Scrolls Online, meanwhile, is headed for Japan and getting new Dark Brotherhood content.
