SGN hires Activision veteran as VP of communications

Ryh-Ming Poon brings extensive experience from GameFly, Machinima and Activision

SGN, the Los Angeles based casual gaming developer, has hired Ryh-Ming Poon as its vice president of communications.

Poon joined SGN last month, following a string of high-level communications roles at a variety of different companies within the games industry. Most recently, Poon was the vice president of public relations for GameFly, the online rental service, and prior to that she held the same title at Machinima, an online entertainment network.

She also worked at Activision between 1998 and 2010, most notably as the global public relations director for Guitar Hero during its most successful period.

"Ryh-Ming's knowledge of the global games space and hands-on experience in launching massive game properties is unparalleled," said Josh Brooks, senior vice president of brand strategy and marketing for SGN.

"She will play a critical role in expanding our fast-growing visibility and media relations needs from our headquarters here in Los Angeles."
