Gearbox lead writer departs for Hulu series

Anthony Burch says goodbye to Claptrap

The lead writer on Gearbox Software's Borderlands 2 Anthony Burch is leaving the company to work on a new original comedy series for Hulu. He announced the news, as is now the tradition, on social media and added that he would stay involved in games development in the future.

The Hulu series will be created in partnership with RocketJump, the team behind YouTube series Video Game High School and Lionsgate Television.

Burch spent more than four and a half year with Gearbox and prior to that created a web series called Hey Ash and worked as features editor on Destructoid.

President of Gearbox Randy Pitchford has also been talking careers on Twitter recently, as the company is currently hiring for its next Borderlands title.
