PerBlue hires former Kabam and Glu Mobile exec

Matt Ricchetti has moved out to Wisconsin to become PerBlue's chief product officer

Glu Mobile's Matt Ricchetti has resigned his post as president of studios to join PerBlue as its chief product officer.

Ricchetti established his executive credentials at the rapidly growing mobile developer Kabam, where he rose from executive producer to vice president of mobile in a little over a 12 months. After almost two years in that role, he joined Glu as president of studios.

Now, two years on, Ricchetti has moved forward again, becoming chief product officer at PerBlue, a mobile developer founded in 2008 in Madison, Wisconsin. It raised $3 million in funding in June 2014, and it now employs 23 people.

Speaking to Venturebeat, Ricchetti cited PerBlue's location in the American Mid-West as one of its main strengths: away from the high costs and competitive hiring of cities like San Francisco and Seattle, but with a strong talent pool emerging from local universities.
