Mobile gaming website Modojo sees record traffic

Best ever month, page impressions up 600 per cent since relaunch

Gamer Network's dedicated mobile site Modojo has broken its previous traffic records, with unique users up 160 per cent and page impressions up 600 percent since its relaunch in January.

February 2013 has been its best month ever, and the site can now boast 1.5 million unique users and 7.2 million page impressions. In addition, 80 per cent of the site's traffic now comes from mobile devices.

"We knew with the Modojo redesign that the desktop version of the site would be important, but making it easily accessible via mobile devices was a major focus," said group publishing director Simon Maxwell.

"Its responsive design has made the mobile browsing experience much slicker and has been one of the driving forces behind its significant increase, along with a deliberate and focused editorial strategy."

Gamer Network, which also publishes GamesIndustry International, acquired the site in 2011 and its success has helped to contribute to the group's 10 million unique users and and 52 million monthly page impressions.

"Modojo has been a valuable addition to the Gamer Network portfolio ensuring we now offer award-winning multi-platform sites such as as well as sites dedicated to each gaming vertical in PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and of course Mobile," continued Maxwell.

"With a growing portfolio and base of consumers across our websites and events, we are well positioned to not only deliver the best products for consumers and advertisers, but also ensure we are at the forefront of the next generation of consoles, PC gaming and mobile development. Its an exciting time in the evolution of gaming."
