Bigpoint hires Intergi for US expansion

German gaming portal signs deal with specialist marketing company

Bigpoint has signed up specialist marketers Intergi to handle all of its North American advertising as it continues its move into market.

"Bigpoint is one of the most successful gaming portals in the world," said Intergi CEO Jayson Dubin.

"We are thrilled to be an integral part of Bigpoint's strategy to grow its business in the U.S. and look forward to bringing new gaming opportunities and audiences to our advertising partners."

Intergi specialises in targeted ad placements for the videogame market. In March it launched Playwire, a video publishing platform allowing users to stream and monetise online videos.

Its clients already include Major League Gaming, Bethesda, Sega, Atari and Capcom.

"The United States is the largest games market in the Western world, and we are committed to developing a very large and successful presence here," added Heiko Hubertz, Bigpoint CEO.

"Just as we are developing games specifically for America, the overall experience, including advertising, has to be similarly appropriate and top notch.  Intergi is the only partner that can deliver both the premier advertisers and user experience we are looking for."

The Bigpoint portal is already home to successful games like Battlestar Galactica Online, which has 5 million registered users, and is expanding. Earlier this month the German company purchased the 49Games dev team for an undisclosed amount.
