Nordic Games acquires JoWood and The Adventure Company
Publisher to develop IP including PainKiller, Gothic, Panzer Elite
Nordic Games has acquired JoWood and The Adventure Company brands, with plans to relaunch them as labels and republish back catalogues.
The company said it also hopes to invest in and develop IP and franchises including SpellForce, Painkiller, Panzer Elite and Gothic.
"This new venture will be a fresh start, and we will be introducing new systems, procedures and business ethics to ensure the company goes from strength to strength," said Lars Wingefors, CEO of Nordic Games.
"This is the beginning of a new era and over the coming months product development will start on a variety of well loved and respected brands and products."
European publisher JoWood filed for insolvency at the beginning of the year, with Nordic Games picking up its brands in June.
Sergiu - any good ideas are always welcome, what did you like best with Gothic 1 & 2?
I think there's a lack of rich, atmospheric, story focussed RPGs in the world as a whole! :) I always got the impression that Gothic did these things well.
I look forward to seeing some of your new games as they come out! Good luck.
now it just needs collection of creative developers to develop, deliver and produce (on time, on budget) a open sandbox version ala fallout, that would bring in new swathes of players to its mythology
Really excited about this turn of events!
