DeNA to release free-to-play Infinity Blade in Japan

iOS title goes co-op and multiplayer with added micro transactions

Japanese mobile firm DeNA is to release Epic and Chair Entertainment's iOS hit Infinity Blade in Japan as a social title

Infinity Blade X adds multiplayer and co-op features via DeNA's Mobage network and will be free-to-play supported by the sale of virtual goods.

The original title was a high-priced release on Apple's App Store, with developer Chair telling this year that it would have liked to see the platform holder do more to support high priced apps.

It will be interesting to see if this version on average makes as much money as each unit sale of $6, or whatever it cost in the West.
